Once again, welcome to my little corner of the internet. I'll likely be constantly updating and improving this website as I'm learning HTML as I go. I didn't want to use a website builder for my work as no matter how hard I tried with them, they all felt too impersonal for my tastes- too clean and sleek, and when you're a pixel artist I find those slick vector images don'trepresent the blocky nostalgic quality the art often provides. So here I am, trying to invoke those memories of the old web while showing off what I'm all about. I hope it at least makes looking at my work more entertaining.
In games development, I'm very drawn to cosy games, and I wish to someday work on a game that perfectly captures this concept. If you haven't heard
of the term before, this essay has a great rundown on it, but in short they are games that push the feeling of safety and abundance, maybe even nostalgia.
My personal favourite examples of this is the Animal Crossing series, Stardew Valley, and arguably Wandersong and Night in the Woods. I also really love
games which explore themes such as mental health and internal struggles, and the best example of that I've seen (and maybe even my favourite game of
all time) is OMORI. I might make a whole blog entry on this game someday, there's just so much I could say about it. As a person I feel I am
rather sentimental and sappy and it certainly shows in my games interest, haha.
While my core focus is on pixel art, I am always trying to work on my other art skills, such as digital illustration and 3D modelling/animation. I am
weaker in these areas but I look forward to learning more tricks and improving! I intend to document this progress in the "My Learning" section of this
website.
Click around this page to see some of my interests and inspirations, as aside from a portfolio I always think that's a good way to get a feel of someone
creatively!
